Carmelo A Marzula, 81

Carmelo A. Marzula, 81, of 410 E. Moody Ave. New Castle, died the morning of March 4, 2010, in his residence.
Born Feb. 2, 1929, in New Castle, he was the son of the late John and Josephine Pintabona Marzula.
Carmelo married the former Wanda W. McKelvey. They were married for 56 years and she survives.
Carmelo was Roman Catholic and was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish.
He worked for W.R. Grace Co. for 20 years as a foreman. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service for eight years as a contract driver.
An Army veteran, Carmelo was inducted Feb. 21, 1952, and was honorablydischarged on Feb. 4, 1953. He served as a private first class, mostly in Germany.
He was a 1947 graduate of New Castle High School. Carmelo enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his friends. He also liked to go grocery shopping for his wife.
In addition to his wife, Wanda, survivors include four brothers and two sister-in-laws, Anthony Marzula of Buffalo, N.Y., Patsy Marzula of Youngstown, Ohio, Sam A. Marzula and his wife, Maryann, of New Castle and John Marzula and his wife, Patricia, of New Castle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Marzula, and a sister, Rose Pagano.
There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday in Mary Mother of Hope Parish, with The Rev. Victor Molka, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street.
