Donald F. BarnesDonald F. Barnes, 61, of 933 Winslow Ave. passed away the morning of March 7, 2010, in New Castle.
Donald was born in Sharon on March 3, 1949, a son of Earl S. and Grace E. Cook Barnes. His father survives in New Castle. His mother preceded him in death.
Donald recently worked at the Valley Block Division of Carbon Limestone as a high-lift driver. In earlier years, he worked at the Lawrence County Blind Association and as a dispatcher for Rainbow Taxi Service.
Mr. Barnes enjoyed sports, was known for being humorous, and was loved by all who knew him.
In addition to his father, Donald is survived by a daughter, Robin Holliday and her husband, Deroy, of New Castle; a son, Gary Barnes and his wife, Deanna, of New Castle; a sister, Darlene Nieswiadomy and her husband, Patrick, of New Castle; a nephew, Patrick Nieswiadomy of New Castle; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Darren Abraham of Gardner Chapel Assembly of God will officiate.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
