Amelia I DePriestAmelia I. Rubis DePriest, 79, of 1116 S. Mercer St., Apt. 516, Vista South, died the morning of March 9, 2010, at her residence.
Born Jan.11, 1931, in East Brady, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Nunziata Oliver Rubis. Amelia was a member of St. John the Baptist Maronite Church. She was a loving homemaker for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. DePriest also worked as a waitress for more than 40 years at Hazel’s Restaurant, Bingos and the Branding Iron. She was a graduate of East Brady High School. Amelia enjoyed cooking for her family and taking bus trips to go shopping. She was an avid Steelers fan. She really loved spending precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary D. Rubis of New Castle, Jay Rubis and his wife, Bonnie, of East Brady, and Tracy M. Rubis and his wife. Anne, of New Castle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vanessa L. Cucitrone and her husband, Edward, of New Castle and Jody L. Dudash and her husband, Timothy, of New Castle; a
sister, Vickie Maywell of Butler; nine grandchildren and their spouses, David W. Bixler, Shane A. Bixler and his wife, Elizabeth, Ryan M. Cucitrone and his wife, Dana, Kristen M. Dudash, Timothy R. Dudash, Ashleigh M. Rubis and Nicholas G. Rubis, all of New Castle; and three great-grandchildren, Cody D. Bixler, Dominic C. Cucitrone and Camren A. Bixler, all of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, Amelia was preceded in death by two brothers, Mario Rubis and Robert Rubis; and two sisters, Jennie Burr and Dora Rubis.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for St. John the Baptist Maronite Church, where a funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. The Rev. Kevin Beaton of St. John the Baptist Maronite Church will officiate. Burial and committal services will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Amelia. I was related to her through my Uncle Ralph Rubeis. I believe. My father was Dominic Rubeis. Such a shame a complete loss of generation connection.
