Wylie K. Sholler, 70, of 4563 State Route 168, Volant, died Tuesday morning, Narch 9, 2010, in the emergency room of Grove City Medical Center.
Born Jan 6, 1940, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Henry Oscar and Irene L. Cotton Sholler. He married the former Carolyn L. Stillwagon on Feb. 20, 1961. She survives.
He was employed for 30 years in heavy construction for Operating Engineers Local 66 of Youngstown. He was also a life-long farmer. Wylie was a 1958 graduate of Wilmington High School and was a member of the Rich Hill Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed traveling and motorcycles and drove his last motorcycle more than 110,000 thousand miles. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles and New Castle Moose.
He served in the Army for three years in Germany.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Travis M. Sholler of Volant; two daughters, Brenda L. Gruber and her husband, Gordon, of Greenville, and Marjorie D. Vernon of Volant; a sister, Linda Mickley of Plain Grove; and nine Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Renee Marie Sholler; a son, Clint M. Sholler; and a sister, Barbara A. Sholler.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Smith Funeral Home, 1778 Perry Highway, Leesburg.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Horn, pastor of the Rich Hill Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Volant Cemetery.
