Carolyn A. Fontana, 75, of 1024 Cunningham Ave. passed away the morning of March 10, 2010, in Jameson Hospital.
Born July 3, 1934, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Mastren Aiello. She married Ralph Fontana on June 25, 1955. He survives.
Mrs. Fontana retired after 38 years of service with National City Bank, formerly Lawrence Savings and Trust, where she worked as a teller. In earlier years she had worked for GC Murphys and as an operator for Bell Telephone.
She was a member of St. Vitus Church.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and bingo, and most important to her was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Thomas J. Fontana, Sr. and wife Renee of New Castle; a daughter, Roseanne Hoffmaster of New Castle; a brother, Louis Aiello of Madison, Wis.; two sisters, Jacqueline Hannon and Judith Galvin, both of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Monica Fontana, Thomas J. Fontana, Jr., Joseph M. Fontana, James L. Davies, Bryan T. Davies, Ralph J. Davies and Alison R. Davies; and two great grandchildren, Abigail G. Davies and Olivia A. Davies.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday for St. Vitus Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. The Rev. John Petrarulo will officiate.
Entombment will be in Parkside Cemetery Mausoleum.
