Anthony L. DeSimone, 82, of Neal Street died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Sharon Regional Hospital in Sharon.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in New Castle, he was a son of the late John and Catherine Gallucci DeSimone.
He was married to Mary Jane Litrenta DeSimone, who died Jan. 4, 1994.
Mr. DeSimone was a self-employed carpenter for 25 years and worked for various contractors for 25 years. He was a member of Carpenters Union No. 171 out of Youngstown, Ohio, for 37 years.
Mr. DeSimone was a member of St. Vitus Church.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 8th Photographic Technical Squadron.
He is survived by one son, John DeSimone and his wife, Dona, of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Sheryl DeSimone and Annette Ross and her husband, Drew, both of New Castle; four sisters, Clara Mooney, Madelyn Colella and Betty Elisco, all of New Castle, and Kathleen Toschi of Cortland, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He also was preceded in death by one son, Anthony DeSimone Jr.; one brother, John DeSimone; and four sisters, Margaret DeSimone, Elizabeth DeSimone, Mary Germani and Charlotte Palus.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.
A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at St. Vitus Church. The Rev. John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.

Your father was so special. He always had the biggest smile & hug for me whenever we were home visiting. It is really hard being so far away during times like this. Uncle "Toe" will will truly be missed.

John D., Sheryl and Annette...Your father built the house I still call home. Who could forget all the Friday nights with our parents playing cards while John D and I did our best not to come home late from the C&A dances!
