Willie L. Foster, 90, of 525 W. North St. passed away the morning of March 12, 2010, at the Haven Convalescent Home.
Born Sept. 5, 1919, in Mobile, Ala., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sally Wright.
She married Pettix Foster on Jan. 3, 1943, and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1986.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the church’s missionary group and a former usher.
Willie was a member of the Sunshine Kensington Club of New Castle.
She enjoyed gardening, baking and traveling.
Surviving her are two sons, Jerry Foster Sr. and his wife, Artishia, and Matthew Foster and his wife, Carrollyn, all of New Castle; one brother, Arthur Wright of Los Angles; one sister, Sarah Brown of Los Angles; one brother-in-law, Henry “Jack” Jackson, whom she raised, of Columbia, S.C.; two grandchildren, Jerry Foster Jr. and Justin Foster; and one great-grandchild, Jayliana Foster.
In addition to her parents and husband. she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. tomororw at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 W. Falls St.
A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Norman H. Hunt, pastor of Second Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
