Albert S. Fair Sr., 63, of Gaylord, Mich., died July 18, 2010, at his home.
He was born June 29, 1947, in New Castle, a son of the late James and Jennie Scott Fair.
Mr. Fair was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War era, serving as an aircraft mechanic for 13 years and attaining the rank of sergeant.
He then drove truck for several area companies.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, and was a life member of AMVETS.
He is survived by two sons, Albert S. Fair Jr. and Joshua Fair, both of New Castle; one daughter, Tammy L. Knapp of Port Bryron, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Fair of Gaylord and Nathan Fair of Canton, Ohio; two sisters, June Fusco of Edinburg and Luella Pascarella of New Castle; 10 grandchildren; and his former wife, Darlene Schuller Vaughn of New Castle.
He was preceded in death three brothers, Charles, James and Ralph Fair; and six sisters, Donna Ragozzino, Shirley Ann Fair, Mable Pitzer, Marion Koscevic, Dorothy May Jaworski and Joyce Irene Fair.
A memorial service will be conducted Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel of the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. The Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate. The New Castle Area Veterans Honor Guard will perform military rites.
Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery.
